De-duplication and Suppression is a data washing service that helps direct marketers reduce costs and improve customer perceptions by removing duplicate or inappropriate records from mailing lists. It is ideal for:

When a person receives several identical copies of a mail piece from the same company, it not only reflects poorly on the company, it also wastes marketing expenditure. It's even worse when that person is an existing customer and they receive a mail piece that is designed to attract new customers.
This data washing service enables you to identify and remove duplicate records within and between the many different source lists that direct marketers must often use in order to compile a final mailing list. It also allows you to nominate lists of people that you don't want to appear on your final mailing list, such as customers who have asked not receive marketing materials.
How does it work?
You send us lists of individuals you wish to mail, as well as any lists of people that you want to make sure you don't mail. The lists should contain at minimum individuals' name and address, and can optionally include other identifying details that we may use to improve the accuracy of the results:
- Date of birth
- Driver's licence
- Gender
We'll then work with you to set some parameters for the data processing work, such as agreeing which copy of a record should be kept if duplicates are found. Then, after processing your data through a number of sophisticated matching and cleansing routines, we will return to you a final mailing list without duplicate or unwanted records in it, along with a report summarising results achieved.
