You can use this service to obtain the rental rate for each Census Collection District (CCD).
Using rental information helps you assess whether variances in the rental rate across areas are related to varying consumption behaviour. This helps you to locate areas that would be expected to have high consumption.
People who rent will often have different needs to people who own their own home. You can tailor your product offerings to different areas depending on whether they are high or low rental areas.
The information for this indicator is from the 2006 ABS Census.
The Rental rate is calculated by dividing the number of rented households in a Census Collection District (CCD) into the total number of households in a CCD.
It ranks each CCD on a scale of 1 (high rental rate) to 10 (low rental rate).
We will require a valid residential address with CCD information. If your database doesn't include CCD's for residential addresses, we can supply software to remedy this before you use the service.
You will receive information added to each matching customer record to show the relevant Rental information.
The price of appending the Rental Indicator to your database will depend on the volume of records you would like updated or whether you would like to license the flag for internal use and analysis. Rental Indicator can also be purchased as a list filter when selecting your target market for outbound campaigns.
A CCD is the base geographic boundary used by the Australian Bureau of Statistics to report on the Census containing about 200 - 250 households.
Note that as a user of this or other data products, particularly those that may involve use or disclosure of personal information, you would need to comply with the Privacy Act 1988 and other applicable data protection and privacy legislation.
