In 2005 and 2006, Veda Advantage was involved in a thorough consultation process with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner in relation to the development of the NZ Credit Reporting Privacy Code (2004). The Code was then introduced in April 2006.

Veda Advantage supported the implementation of the Code and believed it recognised the value of high quality credit reporting to consumers, to lenders and to the economy as a whole while enhancing consumer privacy protection.

The code is being reviewed by the Privacy Commissioner.  The result of that review is expected in 2010. Changes to the Code will be made after public consultation in 2010.
