Recognising success in the business community was the focus of Wellington’s annual Regional Business Gold Awards, held during April this year.  The awards provided local businesses with the opportunity to enter a range of business award categories, which were then judged by a team of around 30 local business people.

Baycorp Advantage has played an active role within the regional awards since their inception in 1999.  Marc Banks, Central Region Sales Manager, Baycorp Advantage regularly participates as a judge and for the past five years Baycorp Advantage has also been one of the main sponsors of this event.

The Awards provide the opportunity for local businesses to recognise success, support their local community and promote the Wellington region.  The annual awards dinner is a very prestigious event on the local business calendar attended by around 600 business people, senior executives and politicians. 

Marc Banks said of this year’s event, “It’s great for Baycorp Advantage to support and participate in this event, given that Wellington (Lower Hutt) is where Baycorp Advantage first began.”

Guests met prior to the awards at a cocktail event where they were personally introduced to Andrew Want, Managing Director, Baycorp Advantage.  Andrew Want was invited to present the Generating Gold award which was won by another company that began in the Lower Hutt, Resene Paints - a long time client of Baycorp Advantage.
